Wuhan: Not A Love Story by Razi Ahmed is an intense thriller filled with suspense. This narrative is teeming with interleaved themes of love, conflict, intrigue and suspense drawing all attention towards it. It highlights the emotional and psychological hurdles that individuals need to cross while wading through turbulent waters. From the origin of the virus, it covers all possible conspiracies regarding it; how people lived under such extreme conditions and yet just like any other human being still doing everything possible to survive such a nightmarish experience. The story begins in the year 2013, Tongguan mountains once hit by strange ailments affecting workers who mine there in their region. Time passes to get to year 2019 when virus found itself back again in Wuhan causing worldwide crisis. The main protagonists are Celina Chan who is a Molecular biologist from Harvard University while on the other hand; Victor Kujur works as an agent for FBI Unit dealing with field operations. They go through this journey that would involve unmasking other aspects of suspense, conspiracy as well as endeavours aimed at unearthing secrets within specified time. The ending makes everything about the investigation come together neatly, which brings a satisfying conclusion to all questions that were left open. This book explore several themes -Resilience, Empathy, Conspiracy and Truth and Human Connection. Razi Ahmed's writing captivates and brings forth a sense of excitement; it has a rapid plot. The characters are rich and complex while there are unpredictable turns of events from one page to another. This book is worth considering for anybody who is interested in thrillers that incorporate aspects drawn from real life situations and imaginary situations.
