" The Greatest Battle of Culture " by Panigrahi Bethi takes readers to the Indus Valley, where the Aryans and Harappans are engaged in complex relations of rivalry and cooperation. The novella consists of 159 pages and is fast-paced, but deep, fusing history and imagination. The characters of Purusha, a Aryan warrior, Varuna, an intelligent scholar, Bharadwaja Aryan priest and Princess Armita, the daughter of Harappan chief Baguhara bring humanity into this cultural war. The story starts with two civilizations exchanging ideas: Aryans marveling at Harappan technology and Harappans being fascinated with Aryan philosophy. But their trust is broken with the conflict.
