 Synopsis:

Aditya Khamankar was a chartered accountant who built his life on a bedrock of numbers. No matter what happened, numbers and math never let you down. They stayed the same. And that fundamental fact defined many of his choices. He was the obedient son, the diligent student, the overachieving employee, and the reliable friend. All he wanted in his life was routine and sensible discourse. All he craved in that same life was peace. And then his senior partner’s flighty daughter came home. And life as heptameter the same again…

Reality television villain and tabloid fodder, Vaani Jaishankar lived for the arclights. The notoriety, the glamour, and the larger-than-life noise that came with it held her in thrall. Until the industry she loved and the people, she trusted used and abandoned her. And now, she was back home. Darkening the doorstep of her childhood home, something she’d sworn she’d never do, and working in her father’s accountancy firm…Could God just take her now already? And then there was her father’s business partner…

What happens when Perfection meets Flawed? Do the cracks beneath his façade show? Or is it as well hidden as the foundation of grit and ambition her shiny polish conceals?

Book Review

Flawed is the first book of Shilpa Suraj - ln  Disgrace series and it is a contemporary and grumpy sunshine age gap romance, where Aditya is 35 and Vaani is 23 years old. Both the characters differ from each other there is nothing similar between them. The unpredictable girl Vaani and her life was also as unpredictable I think that is why he meet Aditya the perfect man who dedicated his life to his family and work.

This is the story of Vaani Jayashankar who is an actress, an unpredictable girl, she got the tag of villain but she is neither villain nor angel. A rebellious girl who was always criticized for her choice, I mean she was never accepted by her family just because of her choice on the other hand Aditya Khamankar's character is like a perfect man. He dedicated his life to his family and work. In this story Vaani's character is filled with full of flaws and Aditya Khamankar is the character who brings stability to her life.

There are  50 chapters in this book and not more characters. Shilpa Suraj did not add many characters to make a mess with the main characters. She mainly focuses on the main character's development so that readers can not distract and read it without feeling bored.

Here are some Favourite contexts  from the Book :

1."What the hell was wrong with him? This was not his type at all. Sure, she was pretty but she was a hot mess. A hot, pink mess. A hot, pink mess with feathers. Now there was a sentence he’d never have imagined thinking in his lifetime."

2.“You have faith in me?” It was an almost inaudible whisper but it reverberated within him. The disbelief, the incredulity, the sheer shock in her voice. Had no one ever said those words to her? “You found me a new hire in two days,” he reminded her. “Not many people can claim that kind of success rate.” “The Hair Flipper.” She snorted, a watery laugh escaping her. “Shit. I can do better.” “See!” He pointed a finger at her. “There’s that drive I was talking about. You can do better and you will. If that’s what you want.

After finishing this book I can say that it is a good book with a great storyline. It has some filmy vibe that keep you going. And author used very simple language so it's easy to understand. The story is a little dramatic but it feels realistic. The story is not too lengthy or short so it does not take readers too much time. If you want to read some dramatic but realistic story then I recommend this book to you.
