Harsh

Harsh

Why are you harsh on yourself,
When you know you need to stand strong,
A lighthouse amidst the storm?

Why are you harsh on yourself,
When you hold the first spark of hope,
A gentle glow in the darkest night?

Why are you harsh on yourself,
When the world’s whispers try to pull you low,
Yet your spirit remains unbroken?

Why are you harsh on yourself,
When you feel the cracks within,
But healing begins with your own embrace?

Why are you harsh on yourself,
When you know that every fleeting dream
Carries its weight in gold?

  1. I agree. Why be harsh on yourself when the world can be harsh in its own way? An evocative poem!

  2. It's a gentle yet powerful reminder of how often we're our own toughest critics. The imagery of being a lighthouse amidst a storm beautifully captures the resilience we sometimes overlook in ourselves. Your words made me pause and reflect on the importance of self-compassion, especially when facing life's challenges. It's comforting to be reminded that healing truly begins with embracing our own imperfections. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt piece; it resonates deeply and encourages a kinder inner dialogue.
